I Got A Plan

There is a battle going on… A FIGHT FOR THE HEART

We all probably know the story of Adam and Eve. Chilling in a beautiful garden, naming every animal (Hippopotamus, what the heck?) but there is one restriction. One tree not to touch. But then...

The serpent was clever, more clever than any wild animal God had made. He spoke to the Woman: “Do I understand that God told you not to eat from any tree in the garden?” The Woman said to the serpent, “Not at all. We can eat from the trees in the garden. It’s only about the tree in the middle of the garden that God said, ‘Don’t eat from it; don’t even touch it or you’ll die.’ ”The serpent told the Woman, “You won’t die. God knows that the moment you eat from that tree, you’ll see what’s really going on. You’ll be just like God, knowing everything, ranging all the way from good to evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5)

And we all probably know the outcome. The human race did not triumph over temptation. We failed. Our team lost. And from this defeat, Adam and Eve run and hide in fear. Have you ever been so fearful that you sought out a hiding place? Or just shut yourself off from your friends, family, anyone? I remember a time when I was young and home alone. I burnt popcorn and the entire house smelled of burnt popcorn. Out of fear (why fear? Sounds a little excessive right?) I attempted to find ways to cover the smell. I ran the popcorn outside; I opened windows, why didn’t they invent Febreze yet??? And now… I was waiting; my parents would be home any minute. Maybe it didn’t smell that bad; maybe they wouldn’t notice? Well, they did. They also didn’t care, but they did ask if I tried making popcorn and because I am such a great spy I lied. They were not having it, the smell was obvious, but my lying was consistent. So my father the amazing detective that he is searched the house for the evidence. Once he stepped outside and neared the garbage, I knew my mistakes would soon be recognized. Sadly they already were I was just too dumb to realize. The evidence was found, and I was embarrassed, I was caught, I was guilty, and I was afraid.

Although, this example pales in comparison to the sinful actions each one of us has made and are living right now I want you to know God has a plan! He was not shocked by your actions. He was not caught off guard by your words. He has planned your redemption and Adam and Eve's from the beginning.

The Curse Becomes The Cure

"I’m declaring war between you and the Woman, between your offspring and hers. He’ll wound your head; you’ll wound his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)

God tells Satan that He will wound your head and you will wound His heel. In the Hebrew, the word ‘wound’ is better understood as ‘crush.’ In the moment that God is telling Adam and Eve that they will now live in sin. Their lives will be different than they were before He also told of the plan for redemption. That through the blood line of Adam and Eve Jesus would come. And He will Crush Satan.

Jesus was the plan for redemption all along. That on the cross He has crushed sin, He has crushed your mistakes, redemption. Everybody loves a comeback and God had the ultimate comeback for you.
